Optimist International Recognitions for 2008-2009

Honor Club
Clubs must fulfill the following requirements to attain Honor Club status.
Membership: Clubs with 1-74 Members must show a net increase of 5 Members from October 1, 2008. Clubs with more than 75 Members must show a net increase of 1 Member.
Finances: District & International dues paid by September 30, 2009
Service Projects: Complete three Service Projects (Verified by District S/T) and submit a minimum of one CPA Entry in the category of Community Service or Fundraising to the District Activities Chair by September 30, 2009 (see Program Rules on page 14 of Awards Booklet).
Club Reports: Officer-Elect Report by May 20, 2009; President’s Pride Report by September 30, 2009
Attendance: Club President or Board Member attends 50% of District meetings (All must follow official rules and be verified by District S/T)

distinguished club
A Club can earn the title of Distinguished Club with a Distinguished President by qualifying for Honor Club and additionally completing one (1) of the following alternates between October 1, 2008, and September 30, 2009:
Alternate A – New Club Building
Sponsor, or Co-Sponsor, one (1) New Optimist Club with a minimum of 25 fully paid Charter Members at the time of the official organizational meeting or two (2) Pilot Clubs with a minimum of 15 fully paid Charter Members at the time of the official organizational meeting. The New Club Follow-Up Program must be completed in order to receive credit.
Alternate B – Membership
For a Club of 25 or more Members on October 1
Show, by September 30, 2009, a net increase of 25 or more Members over the October 1, 2008, Membership.
For a Club of 24 Members or fewer on October 1
Show, by September 30, 2009, a net increase of at least 15 Members and finish the year with at least 25 Members enrolled on the official Optimist International Roster. The beginning Membership base for New Clubs shall be the official total Charter   Membership, which includes Charter Members added during the 15-day charter extension period.
Alternate C – JOOI Club Sponsorship and Membership
Part 1 – Sponsor a New Junior Optimist, Octagon or Alpha Club (JOOI), with a minimum of 15 fully paid Charter Members at the time of the official organization meeting. In order to receive credit, the Sponsor Club must certify that the Follow-up Program has been completed and written certification must be submitted to the Headquarters Office by an official postal office no later than November 30, 2009.
Part 2 – The Sponsor Club must show, by September 30, 2009, a net increase
of at least 15 Members over the October 1, 2008, Membership.

Any Club who satisfies the requirements to become a Distinguished Club may advance to attain the following Distinguished recognition levels: Double Distinguished, Triple Distinguished and Grand Slam - to be awarded in the 3rd or 4th Quarter meeting
Double Distinguished
Earn this title by qualifying for a Distinguished Club and additionally completing one (1) of the alternates listed (A-B-C).
Triple Distinguished
Earn this title by qualifying for a Distinguished Club and additionally completing any combination of two (2) of the alternates listed (A-B-C).
Grand Slam
Earn this title by qualifying for a Distinguished Club and additionally completing any combination of three (3) of the alternates listed (A-B-C).

high 5 clubs
This award is the first-ever award offered to any Club that fulfills any requirement for Double Distinguished, Triple Distinguished and Grand Slam in addition to building one (1) New Club of 25 or more Members OR two (2) Pilot Clubs of 15 or more Members between October 1, 2008, and September 30, 3009.

distinguished lieutenant governor
A Distinguished Lieutenant Governor is one who inspires growth throughout the Zone and becomes personally involved in expanding their Zone into a new community by chartering a New Optimist Club.
• Attend a minimum of three District Executive Meetings Between October 1, 2008, and September 30, 2009
• Complete Annual Club Planning Conference Report (ACPC) for all Clubs in a Zone
• Zone must show a Membership net increase of 5% from October 1, 2008
• 100% of Honor Clubs or 1 New Club or 2 Pilot Clubs
• Have a minimum of three Zone meetings and submit reports to District Secretary-Treasurer.

distinguished and outstanding lieutenant governor award
Highest percent of growth from October 1, 2008, in Zone and build a minimum of one  New Club. All Charter Members are included in the count.

honor district
An Honor District represents a year of leading other volunteers with an effective management system. It requires overseeing and encouraging all levels of involvement. It also involves personal participation by the Governor. An Honor District gives the next
administration a better District than it was a year ago.
The Requirements
• Membership: Net increase of 3% from October 1, 2008
• New Club Building: Add 2 New Clubs or 4 Pilot Clubs
• Financial Obligations: All Club bills paid to OI and District by September 30, 2009
• Annual Review: International Headquarters by January 15, 2010

PaceSetter
District achieves the following by December 31, 2008
• Membership: Net increase of 1 % from October 1
• New Club Building: Add 1 New Club or 2 Pilot Clubs

PaceMaker
District achieves the following by June 30, 2009
• Membership: Net increase of 3% from October 1, 2008
• New Club Building: Add 2 New Clubs or 4 Pilot Clubs by June 30, 2009

distinguished district
The Requirements
• Membership: Net increase of 5% from October 1, 2008
• New Club Building: Add 5% of total Clubs in District on October 1, 2008. Districts with less than 60 Clubs on October 1 must add a minimum of 3 New Clubs or 6 Pilot Clubs.
• Financial Obligations: All Club bills paid to OI and District by September 30, 2009
• Annual Review: International Headquarters by January 15, 2010.
